Some Canberra lads are trying to start a bmx company (it might be called “Republic” or possibly “Republic Free Nation”) and have posted a video of them having fun in Canberra’s skate parks.

It’s not immediately obvious what they’re trying to sell, or where we can get it, but hey, it’s just a beginning right?

next time im at revolve, i think i’ll look for an old dragster frame and some bmx style handle bars.

i think it was called a zimmer frame actually, Dagget.

I think they were called Tuffs.
If you bent them you could put them in the freezer and they would straighten apparently .

i remember pulling the seat off my dragster, fitting some crossrider front forks and adding a racing bike seat to the old treadlie…

i wasnt robinson caruso.

naturally our creations were soon corporatised and the ‘bmx’ began to appear in the shops.

remember those plastic wheels you couldnt break ?

we did.
