Make it rain. That’s the simple and powerful gesture requested by five of Canberra’s favourite acts this week as they take part in the aptly named bushfire relief fundraiser, Make it Rain. Hands Like Houses, Young Monks, Citizen Kay, Teen Jesus and the Jean Teasers and Sputnik Sweetheart continue the fundraising effort this Sunday at UC Hub for a night of connectedness and action.

Elite Australian metallers Northlane are in town this week as well, bringing their 4D regional tour to Kambri on Thursday, accompanied by special guests Gravemind. This show is one not to miss for heavy music fans.

Also on Thursday, Sydney roots and dub band The Beautiful Girls hit The Basement to play a greatest hits set, while Wollongong surf rockers Dribs are set to play across town at Transit Bar.

For those after something a little more refined, the Australian Haydn Ensemble will waltz into Albert Hall this Friday. Directed by renowned conductor and harpsichordist Erin Helyard, the ensemble will take you through some of their namesake’s deep cuts, as well as Mozart’s wonderful Piano Concerto No 9 in E flat major ‘Jenamy’ (not Jeunehomme, as it is often referred to mistakenly).
