You were thinking about doing some work in the garden this long weekend, weren’t you? Think again. It’s going to be sizzling hot at the South Coast and you could be lying on the beach at Broulee or by the infinity pool at Mollymook. With beaches like ours and weather like this you might be just as happy staying in one of the South Coast’s fine caravan parks or basic motel or even making it a day trip, and why not.

Just in case you’re thinking of treating yourself to something a bit more special, we’ve compiled our top six picks for South Coast break this weekend or next time you can get away.

You’ll want to spend the whole weekend lying by (or floating in) the infinity pool, but will have to drag yourself away to dine on Rick Stein cuisine in the restaurant or try a spa treatment.

I could watch that blowhole all day.

May I suggest other places in Merimbula e.g. the Albacore which overlooks both the Lake, Fishpen and ocean, without low airplanes over your roof, and almost anywhere in Gerringong, one stop up from Berry on the railway line.
