Six vehicle accident on Tuggeranong Parkway causing major delays

A six-car accident on the Tuggeranong Parkway is causing major delays for motorists trying to make their way to work this morning.

The collision occurred just before 8:30 am on the Tuggeranong Parkway under the Cotter Road overpass at Curtin.

ACT Ambulance Service, ACT Fire and Rescue and ACT Policing are on the scene, however, no major injuries have been reported, according to the ACT Emergency Services Agency.

Patients are being assessed on scene by paramedics.

One northbound lane of the Parkway is closed to allow tow trucks to clear the scene.

Motorists are being urged to avoid the area.

Emergency service crews will remain on the scene for some time to ensure the area is safe.

Meanwhile, emergency services are also on the scene of a motor vehicle incident near the intersection of Canberra Avenue and Hindmarsh Drive, shortly after 8:30 am.

One lane is closed heading towards Canberra CBD, causing significant traffic delays.

Paramedics are assessing patients at the scene with no major injuries reported.
