Sydney whips Canberra once again

By Pandy 23 October 2006 9

In today’s the Sunday Telegraph, that fine News Corp paper, has a go at our new jail. It asks for reader feeback on the article by the far the most of the day.

Frankly reading the story of how the prisoners are going to wear security bracelets gets me thinking on how I could escape.

What’s Your opinion?

:P.. I hate it too – every time I am on yank forums it drives me crazy.

Snahon – all throughout PS and HS I can only ever remember one teacher even bringing it up.. and even then saying that jail was acceptable.

Perhaps it was the quality of your teacher at the time ?

I recall in HS pissing ourselves laughing every time a teacher would make spelling mistakes. The classic was ‘teatcher’ – fortunately, it was a maths teacher and not english if I recall.

Actually, I think it became acceptable spelling in the mid to late 70s.

However, I decided to rage against the cultural imperialism thrust upon us by self serving Americans.

Well, no, not really. The Americanisation of language annoys me.

I swear at school I was always taught jail or at the very least that jail was acceptable. and I was at school a fairly long time ago

Anyone who uses the word ‘jail’ should be horsewhipped and then made to sit through ten reruns of ‘The Sound of Music’.

I note the word “Jail”… May I please be so bold as to inform you it is actually spelt

please take Americanisation out of our great land.
