We’ve previously covered the gaping secutiry failure at the Mint (here and here). Now the ABC brings the happy news that the Mint now think’s they’ve tightened it all up and everything is secure. No, no, they don’t need to worry the public’s pretty little heads with details of what went wrong, who was responsible, and how they’ve been punished.

What we still don’t know is whether this review only looked at the question “how did the money leave the site?”.

The far more worrying question which the Mint has not yet chosen to explain to the public is “how did the Mint not notice the money had gone missing?”
