The Australian has the grisly tale of an alarmingly colossal cockup by Brumbies management.
Having run a stunningly inept media strategy of pre-leaks and social media teasing the club wheeled out League star Danny Buderus as a part time collision coach.
But less than a day later the deal is off with necessary paperwork not having been done.
However, it appears yesterday’s announcement caught everyone off guard. Buderus was scheduled to take part in his first training session with the Brumbies yesterday afternoon but it was cancelled after a flurry of phone calls between NRL management, the Knights and the former NSW and Australia hooker.
Bennett made it clear his club and Buderus would abide by the NRL’s decision.
Let’s hope this is a minor aberration and not symptomatic of bigger problems.
UPDATE 09/11/12: The Brumbies have now issued a terse statement.
