HighView (pictured) are a local rock band inspired by the likes of Dead Letter Circus and the Foo Fighters, with Metal Hammer Magazine describing them as “arena-filling hard rock with a soulful, techy sheen”. They will be playing with The Omnific this Friday night at The Basement from 8 pm, playing along with fellow locals Palace Revolution and Axiomatic Theory.
Canbeurovision takes the big stage at the Canberra Theatre on Friday night, or head on over to the Drill Hall Gallery for free-improvisation by Psithurism Trio and Phage Trio from 7:30 pm. Later on in the night over at Mr Wolf, Run It presents Jacknife, Avance and BOM, playing from 10 pm.
On Saturday night, Nice Up! will be hosting DJs who have nominated the proceeds of the night to go to different charities. Starting from 5 pm at sideway and hosted by Winston Reed, Mick Dagger and Maarten Vlot of the Liquid Sunshine Sound System, proceeds will go to the Visiola Foundation which facilitates the mentoring and training of youth in the STEM fields in Africa. Go along and check it out, along with the massive amount of gigs happening this weekend – more details below!
