AndyM has been up to Corin Dam and sends back this picture of water passing over the spillway as the ACT’s water storages fill up.

Based on that data it looks like Canberra has had the biggest percentage increase of all cities reported in stored water over the past year.

Close, but Brisbane is up 37% from this time last year, Canberra is only up 35% although it looks like Brisbane added a dam in the last year or so.

If you actually divide out the values, I think you’ll find that Canberra had a much larger increase in percentage of water held compared with one year ago, as opposed to compared with total storage capacity.

🙂

If you run your mouse over the cities on the top left map it gives you more information in a little box, and you can click on them to drill down further.

It’s all shiny and new as it was publicly launched last Thursday.

FYI, you can find out dam levels across the country from the Bureau of Meteorology’s Water website at;

Nope, definitely a monster, although he looks a bit dead….

Well, to be fair, it has probably forgotten how to swim over the last few years.

Is that the head of the CORIN-NESS monster at the end of the spillway near the wall?

Excellent! This is what the water level looked like in 2007…
