Fans of Aussie Aussie author Thomas Keneally take note, he is coming to Belconnen Library This Thursday to talk about his new book “Shame and the Captives” and meet with fans.
“This is a fantastic opportunity to meet a renowned Australian writer,” Karen Hansen, Manager Operations, Libraries ACT said today.
“Thomas Keneally’s new book is set during the Second World War and deals with the lives of interned prisoners of war and residents of a nearby farming community. It’s an exploration of how the lives of ordinary people are affected by world events.”
The author’s previous work includes the Booker Prize winning novel Schindler’s Ark, which was made into the Academy Award winning film Schindler’s List, as well as The Chant of Jimmie Blacksmith, Gossip from the Forest and Confederates. His books Bring Larks and Heroes and Three Cheers For The Paraclete won the Miles Franklin Award.
Ms Hansen said the event is for adults only, and will run from 1 pm to 2.30 pm. Copies of the book will be available for purchase and signing at the event.
