The problem here is the parents. Where are these kids parents. If you are under 16 you should have parents with you for an event like this. (I thought you had to, apparently not) Same with the girls, when they are younger they’re a lot more likely to show they’re tits than when they are older and know the consequences. Either way I think the girls have the power here, either show em or don’t. Though if I was over 18 and male, taking photos of young girls with their tits out I’d be VERY careful. Just one facebook post away from the sexual offenders list.

Pandus – LOL!!!!!!! How have you come to be so wise?

You should turn your manifesto into a best selling self-help book.

The feminist manifesto:

ALL A MAN HAS TO DO TO MAKE A WOMAN HAPPY IS TO BE:

AT THE SAME TIME, YOU MUST PAY ATTENTION TO MAKE SURE YOU:
59. you are neither jealous nor disinterested
60. get on well with her family, but do not spend more time with

ABOVE ALL IT IS VERY IMPORTANT TO:
62. Not to forget the dates of:
a. Anniversaries [wedding, engagement, first date].
b. graduation

However, even if you observe the above instructions perfectly, you are
not 100% guaranteed that she will be happy.

HOW TO MAKE A MAN HAPPY:

1. Let him play with your tits.

I used the term shirtlifter in the context of gals lifting their tops up. I did not know it had another meaning.

Not that there is anything wrong with that.

Deref said :

Look, I think the problem here is one of sexist discrimination. If there were a couple of young women next to them with signs saying “Show us yer dick”, and young men driving by responding, I think we’d all feel much more comfortable.

It’d also attract a wider audience to Summernats – like the poster who wanted to see some shirtlifters in the Supercruise.

People are way too PC these days. It’s getting boring! Mind you kids these days (oh god, I’ve turned into my father!) really have no clue coz their parents are too busy cotton wooling them for the kids to learn from their own mistakes.
I really don’t think it’s that big a deal, but I’d be curious as to how they’ve been raised 😉 have they been smothered so much that they’ve “rebelled?!” I’d be more concerned about the cockheads who attacked one of the organisers than some lame 15 yr old boys
Or on the otherside, have their parents given up on parenting because “we’ll let the teachers deal with it”
Who really knows…

Look as someone who has some, boobs are beautiful objects and everyone loves them. However I find this photo truly disturbing.
Its just so terribly depressing to think that public representations of women are always reduced to tits.
A festival which apparently condones this kind of behaviour -this harmless high jinks sort of stuff – is really part of something which contributes to sexual violence towards women.
And I know its hard to write about this without coming across as sounding like some overall-wearing po-faced feminazi – as I know my response seems hyperbolic – but its not.
These boys obviously felt comfortable enough in that environment to show these signs – that’s quite significant – I doubt they would feel comfortable showing them at say – the beach or at a shopping centre.

I mean where else can you get a green light to express these thoughts? Jail perhaps?

The Antichrist 9:31 pm 09 Jan 12

For as long as there has been tits…..

boys have been interested in them.

Such is Life.

Bramina 7:36 pm 09 Jan 12

Who will watch Bloke’s World if not these lads? Think of all of the people who would be unemployed if that show went off air.

realman 7:06 pm 09 Jan 12

I personally think too much time has been invested here – I polled that they are ‘fair game’, and they are but really – a few naughty school boys holding a naughty sign.

I sat near a 30ish parent only a week ago that repeatedly and loudly told her approx 4yo daughter to ‘shut up you complaining brat’, youve been fed already today – you had a big breakfast’ at 4pm along with a bunch of other choice statements. I cringe at what the end result might be but Im reasonably sure its a lot worse than a sign about titties.

Thumper 6:44 pm 09 Jan 12

Brilliant, 12 year olds yelling ‘show us ya tits’.

Just charming. Women being treated as objects by a couple of year sevens.

Their parents must be proud.

fabforty 6:10 pm 09 Jan 12

And yet organisers insist this is a “family event”. Yeah… right.

I-filed said :

You know what? I don’t care too much about these kids and this sign – because they don’t pose an actual threat to women. The late-night, hard-porn, rape-potential vibe at Summernats is what is really scary – among the drunken louts. And yes, last year there was what was surely illegal porn – why else would it have been conveniently projected from a trolley contraption for quick removal if the police or other inspectors passed by?

Has it occurred to you that the same message these kids have been fed (that women are merely objects for sexual pleasure) is what leads to the “late-night, hard-porn, rape-potential vibe”? You should care about these kids and that sign.

professorgoogoo 5:47 pm 09 Jan 12

Those are some art skills that those charming little bogans have on their hands.

Looks like summernats was as tasteful as ever this year.

creative_canberran 5:30 pm 09 Jan 12

A bit sad that in the age of internet images, they actually wasted time drawing up those posters. of course we may all be taking it out of context and it’s actually a witty parody of bogans.
