Jo Parkinson and Sandra Bown are to local ladies who are planning to ride the 565kms from North to South Vietnam in support of the Cancer Foundation of Australia.

Jo and Sandra have chosen the Cure Cancer Foundation because like most of us, they too have unfortunately both been touched by cancer, and with 1 in 2 Australians being diagnosed with cancer the more researchers we can fund, the closer we are to finding a cure.

Jo lost her father just 18 months ago following a painful battle with Mesothelioma, a very rare and aggressive form of cancer caused by exposure to asbestos, and Sandra has also been affected by the loss of very dear friends to cancer and is inspired by the many young children battling the disease every day.

All funds raised for the Cure Cancer Foundation ensure young and innovative Australian researchers can continue their work seeking a cure for cancer. These young and dedicated researchers, often work long hours, in tough conditions for little reward. It is through this dedication, their creativity and innovation that will lead us to finding a cure.

In order to build awareness and raise some more funds Jo and Sandra are hosting a matinee showing of The Great Gatsby on the second of June. If you’re planning on seeing the movie, might as well bundle it in with supporting a good cause!
