Two people have been charged with burglary and obtaining a financial advantage by deception following arrests in Kambah on the weekend.

On Friday (21 September), a Bonython home was broken into and a large number of items including jewellery, credit cards and car keys were taken.

After a tip-off from a neighbour and the victim, on Saturday morning (22 September) police on patrol located a vehicle believed to be involved in the burglary parked at a Kambah residence.

Shortly after, a 25-year-old male and a 33-year-old female were arrested and were charged with aggravated burglary and obtaining a financial advantage by deception.

Police recovered all the items taken from the Bonython burglary as well as items from a recent burglary in Mawson.

The duo is scheduled to appear in the ACT Magistrates Court today (24 September).

Police are reminding the community to be aware of unfamiliar vehicles and people around their residences and if concerned, note the registration, vehicle make and model and a description of the people.

Anyone who may have any information about criminal activity that could assist police can contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000, or via the Crime Stoppers ACT website.

Information can be provided anonymously.
