Hey Groovers, it’s time for another Unearthed Review! Lets check out ASSASSINS 88!
Here’s the part where I usually say “Here’s what they have to say about themselves:” but I can’t because the band hasn’t put a bio up. Bios are too mainstream. Let’s skip ahead.
ASSASSINS 88 have a brilliant grungy pop-rock beach party sound, and I want to ask them to come to any and all future birthday parties I may have. These three tracks are snappy, varied, and fun. Listen to them all. The only criticism I have is the distorted crunchy vocals may just be a little too distorted, it’s near impossible to hear the lyrics most of the time and they sound terrible through my laptop speakers. Stick a pair of headphones in if you’re stuck with crappy speakers, it’ll stop the vocals from grating too much.
I often complain in these reviews about the music I’m reviewing doing little to stand out, or not having fun. ASSASSINS 88 do both of those things, and do them well. I am happy now.
