I saw the following sign up at the corner of Limestone and Wakefield Avenues and felt the need to share it.

Environment ACT\'s message about the magpie menace

So if you’re reading it, and don’t have a hat or brolly handy, well you’re SOL.

A Gov sign warning of danger, terrific! I am off to find a non-signed swooping bird, get swooped, then sue urban services for emotional damages.

When the cheque comes in the drinks are on me 😉

When are the Gubnit going to put up signs warning of window-washers at the next intersection?

It wasn’t a magpie, it was some kind of grey long-legged bird. There was a pair of them and they hade a whole bunch of cute baby birds that would always wonder all over the footpath in the way of oncoming bicycles.

I’ve seen one of those signs put up for a spur winged plover.

Of course they usually manage to put these signs up about the time said bird’s stopped swooping.

Though one year there was a similar sign down near the Winchester police centre in Belconnen only the birds didn’t swoop, they chased you along the path.

Don’t forget the plover. Bloody plovers, bane of my cricketing youth.
