Waramanga chemist held up at knifepoint

Canberra’s spate of aggravated robberies is continuing with a Waramanga chemist being held up at knifepoint.

ACT Policing is seeking witnesses or dash-cam footage of the aggravated robbery at the Capital Chemist, Damala Street, Waramanga.

Police said that about 3.15 pm yesterday (Monday, 15 January 2018), a man entered the chemist, produced a knife and left with an amount of cash.

He is described as Caucasian in appearance, about 165-175 cm tall, aged in his 20s, with short light brown or dark blonde hair and clean shaven. He was of medium to solid build, wearing a black cap, black hoodie, grey tracksuit pants and reflective sunglasses with thin metal rims.

The man left the chemist on foot in the direction of Damala Street, Waramanga.

Police are calling for witnesses and anyone who may have dash-cam footage of the Waramanga Shopping Centre around this time or information in relation to this incident to contact police on 131 444 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000. Information can also be provided via the Crime Stoppers ACT website.
