Zed sighted! Still alive!

Readers will be thrilled to learn that despite showing no signs of useful activity Zed Seselja is alive and appears to be quite jolly.

The picture was sent in by a reader with the following note:

See attached photo, Zed Seselja and Young Liberals at the Federal Convention on the weekend.

This photo was taken at a convention drinks function just prior to Zed, Alistar Coe and a bunch of drunken young liberals were spotted at Mooseheads night spot on Saturday night….. Good to see that the Leader of the Opposition and Youth Shadow Minister are so concerned about binge drinking that they would go and join in on the action.

It should, however, be noted that there’s no evidence at all to suggest Zed and Alistair were themselves drinking.

UPDATED: But what’s this in the Canberra Times?

Whether it got lifted (plagiarised?) from here, or our source sent it in to multiple outlets, is an exercise I will leave to the reader. But to all the Liberal fanbois hyperventilating in the comments about how we’ll never be “taken seriously” for running this sort of story, well, I’m laughing at you right now (OK, it’s more of a giggle).

“Z” the liberal party saviour…… where has he been since the october defeat. Surely the wounds have healed now and and he can actually do some work. Still absent from the media Vicki Dunne.

FFS, Libs, learn to sign properly. Palms facing each other, thumb tips together, tips of middle fingers together, now extend index fingers, left above right.

Now you be rollin, we hatin.

Losers. Literally.

I think you’ll find they have correctly executed the Zoltan gesture from ‘Dude Where’s my Car’.

Is the pose in that image you and your hommies showing how cool and trendy and down with the kids you are Z?

Why do the words “missed by a million miles” leap to mind?

Well that is about as much as you will get out of Zed this year. I can tell you he really likes the big salary. I’d like to be checking his flexsheet. He was someone in the past (in his first few years at the Assembly) who was missing in action. The Canberra Liberals ought to think about recruiting someone who is not a rabid right winger (and dare I suggest not catholic). They will be permanently in opposition with the current format. Their best chance was last election! It was a once in a decade opportunity squandered. That actually suits quite a number of Liberal MLAs who have shown that they cannot perform under pressure and have consistently been found wanting. They are very comfortable thank you.

In Zed-watch news I spotted the man himself putting on a gun show at my local gym. I was thinking……..damn, I know i’ve seen that face somewhere before……

Why does Johnboy feel the need to make the point that there was “no evidence at all to suggest Zed and Alistair were themselves drinking” ? Its not a crime. Why is Johnboy afraid to be the one to imply that they are ? Hmmmmm ?

It was pointed out to me that unfair imputations could be made from the story as it ran. I try to be fair.

As for our newbie kowpow, well they seem to have mistaken themselves for someone who’s opinion I care about.

WOAH! Who bagged out uno.
Get out.

I’m sorry, who is zed? Why is he so important? Why havent i heard anything about him in the news since…….ages ago?

A local politician is spotted

I’d also say that this is the news part.

Zed sighted! Still alive!

I’d take issue with the word “still” there, it has a presumtion of prior life.

Oh my gosh!
If this shit really counts as news, then you can’t expect the RiotACT to be treated seriously by the public or other media.

It is interesting though.

Think of it as like the social pages.

Perhaps anytime anyone sees an ACT Legislative Assembly member, or a member of one of the Houses on the Hill, sees them out at a local Canberra small business, they’d better take a photo and send it into RiotACT.

If it was a small business in Fyshwick in the small hours then I’m sure he’d be really interested.

Oh my gosh!

A local politician is spotted out at a local business!

Stop the Presses!

I mean it’s not as though he got drunk, then drove home and was caught by the police force of which he is the Minister responsible!

I think 86% of the readership has already answered that question…… and he is just not that into Zed.

Agree that Uno is awesome.

Binge drinking?! Looks like they’ve just slammed down a couple of cordials and are doing a fairly pedestrian version of ‘Incy Wincy Spider’.

Looks like an action packed night out.

If you’re normally into crochet and corsswords and perhaps the odd game of uno.

They wouldn’t know how to binge drink if they tried.

Lightweights, the lot of ’em.

And what’s with the ‘z’ sign, is Zed embracing southside culture starting a gang and now throwing his set in the air and waving it around like he just don’t care?

Whoa Whoa Whoa!

Uno is a BLOODY GREAT GAME! I won’t have anyone disparaging it.

I bet this is the first media coverage Zed has received all week

Gang signs are awesome…

What a cheap shot.

So Zed, Alistair Coe and other Young Liberals visit a nightclub and this somehow equates to binge drinking.

I was there on the night and all I saw was a group of people enjoying and behaving themselves. Many of the patrons came up and said hi to Zed and he was happy to meet them and in some cases have his photo taken.

It’s a shame that someone has taken advantaged of Zed’s goodwill and tied to slur him and the Young Liberals.

Personally, I think it was good to see Zed and Alistair having a good time at a night club.

Of course next week Johnboy will ‘find’ a story that slams Zed and Alistair for being boring and snobbish.

I think George needs a drink!!

!Zoltan!

If only Zed started busting out the Zoltan move before the last election. More interestingly and still on the ‘Dude Wheres My Car’ theme, does he have a continuum transfunctionator – a mysterious and powerful device whose mystery is only exceeded by its power? One would certainly help him and his crew.

Along with ‘Vote for Morgo’, it is good to see the Libs paying attention to catch phrases emanating from modern youth-oriented cinema.

George said :

I’m perfectly comfortable with any kind of shot taken at Zed, or the Liberals, or the Young Liberals.

And considering the array of morons who set foot in Moosehead’s in the first place, I look forward to tarring them with the same brush.

Young Liberals…..shudder!

The Z is for Zoltan.

What can I say, the Victorians are odd.

Looks like an action packed night out.

I saw him in the VIP area at the Australia Day Concert. Didn’t seem like he was drinking and didn’t hang around long after the Australian of the Year awards.
