There was some fanfare over the weekend over the great move of Goulburn’s Big Merino.
We happened across it on Sunday while stopping at Maccas to up our blood sugar levels on the way out of town.

Even the Big Merino couldn’t entice us to partake of the eateries at the bottom of the hill it now appears to be promoting.
Sadly instead of grandly jutting out over the highway as an immortal monument to Goulburn’s wool industry you still need to get off the highway to see the thing.
Possibly better for sales but 200 metres from greatness.

Get a Macca, grab a pie, fill-up with biodiesel, experience the ram all in an easy walk. What more do you want?
I’ve never heard of “a Macca”, singular.
I reckon he should be on that hill near the highway where the Maccas sign is.
That would be cool. A giant ram gazing down at all who pass….
Thumper: it’d look good but I’d give it 4 weeks before the NSW govt tried to fill it with speed cameras for the freeway.
so many jokes about getting fleeced, so little time.
Which is the petrol company that used to be called “Golden Fleece”?
esso
stand corrected
I thought Golden Fleece was a brand all on its own? IIRC they were eventually swallowed up by either Ampol or Caltex.
Yes MrM. You are right. I did a Google, it was painful, that is why I stand, corrected. I was only a kid when I last saw my ram on a pump.
