Commodore driver trapped in burning car

ACT Policing has arrested a 19-year-old man after he fled a serious collision in Kambah yesterday afternoon (Wednesday January 2).

The man was driving a stolen blue Ford Territory which collided with a black Holden Commodore about 5.45pm. The Commodore caught fire, with the driver becoming trapped for a short time until members of the public pulled him clear. He was taken to hospital with critical injuries.

The driver of the Territory fled on foot, and later handed himself in to police where he was arrested.

The man will face ACT Magistrate’s Court this morning (Thursday January 3), where he will be charged with several offences.

I notice the times states the “alleged” driver/absconder was already on weekend detention.

I’ve always been considered a bit of a leftie by my mates, but I’m starting to think capital punishment might be a good thing in certain circumstances.

Yep just another example of what can happen if you give a farktard, who is serving a suspended jail sentence and is subject to three good behaviour orders, leniency.Once again well done to the judiciary for only sentencing him to weekend jail for burglary, aggravated burglary and theft and giving him yet another chance to show his true colours.

Yes, Joshua Luke Winters is a scumbag recidivist. Like knuckles, I think it’s about time some of these oxygen thieves no longer shared this world with the rest of us.

C’mon, Josh, do a Mully and take a few of your of your deadshit mates with you.

Only a matter of time…But hopefully he doesn’t remove any innocents from the mortal coil like almost happened yesterday.

Good to see that passers-by reacted and started getting the trapped driver out of the burning car.

Sp the perp, driving a stolen car, crashed into this poor bloke, and then ran off, leaving his victim to burn in the wreckage and end up critically injured. Words don’t often fail me, but nothing comes to me right now that will adequately express my contempt for this cowardly mongrel. I hope the victim recovers fully.

It’s actions like this that make me tend to believe that there really are monsters among us. They look and sound like humans, but they’re not. They’re strange, twisted, evil creatures that look like us physically, but that’s where the resemblance ends. Their thoughts and actions set them totally apart from the rest of humanity. This guy is one of those critters. He should be permanently separated from the humans so that he can live out his life peacefully without causing any more harm to anybody. But not until he’s been given a good flogging for this dog act.

And I have to give a huge shout out to the passers-by who ran towards the burning vehicle and helped the driver out. Balls of Steel there, well above and beyond the call. My hat is off to yez.

Pat on the back to the people who stepped in, and literally rescued the victim. I hope the person has a speedy and full recovery.

I love how if you search his name on Google, all that comes up page after page is “Yes, Joshua Luke Winters is a scumbag recidivist”. Agree, his criminal past and lack of proper action by the judicial system have now brought pain to another family, who were totally innocent until they happened by fate to cross paths with this individual. My heart goes out to the other driver and I sincerely hope he recovers quickly. I also hope that weekend detention will not be considered a suitable slap on the wrist for this scumbag.

Can we start a facebook page to get him free? It’s obviously not his fault, poor upbringing, let down by the education system, failed by the mental health services, betrayed by social services, never given a chance by the police. I blame the magistrates myself, they have picked on him for every minor misdemeanor he has accidentally been involved in. Give him a bigger pension, a large govy flat, and a free unlimited driving license I say.

For someone who admits to having ‘nothing come to me right now that will adequately express my contempt for this cowardly mongrel’, you’ve done pretty well.

I’d hate to see you post something where you have a lot to say…

For the record, I agree with you.

My family knew Josh winters and I am not surprised he has done this and ended up this way , just waiting on some news report that the younger brother has done something to, had to keep one of my kids away from them ( she was friends with the sister) as the younger one use to throw curry powder in her face, tried to stab her, also tried to hit another daughter in the face with wood that had nails sticking out……… a lot of kids use to be terrified to walk past their house cause of the 2 boys ( the girl was/ is lovely)
