ACT Policing has arrested a 19-year-old man after he fled a serious collision in Kambah yesterday afternoon (Wednesday January 2).
The man was driving a stolen blue Ford Territory which collided with a black Holden Commodore about 5.45pm. The Commodore caught fire, with the driver becoming trapped for a short time until members of the public pulled him clear. He was taken to hospital with critical injuries.
The driver of the Territory fled on foot, and later handed himself in to police where he was arrested.
The man will face ACT Magistrate’s Court this morning (Thursday January 3), where he will be charged with several offences.
