Police move in on Spence house fire

ACT Policing has commenced an investigation after a house in Healy Street, Spence was destroyed by fire early yesterday morning (Friday, October 4).

Around 2.30am, ACT Fire and Rescue attended the location and extinguished the fire. No persons were at home at the time of the fire.

The house was destroyed as a result of the fire and the estimated cost of damage is $320,000.

An ACT Fire and Rescue investigator and AFP Forensics officers conducted a joint examination of the scene but were unable to determine the origin of the fire. A number of samples have been collected for further analysis.

The crime scene has been handed over to ACT Policing Criminal Investigations for further investigation.
