ANZAC Day 2018 - Find out what cafes, supermarkets and cinemas are open!

ANZAC DAY 2018 is here.

Its hard to know what it is open and what is not on this national day of remembrance. But do not worry, RiotACT has got you covered. We have provided the opening hours of supermarkets and shopping centres across Canberra and a list of Canberra’s finest 13 cafes that will be serving coffee and breaky on Wednesday morning.

We also have the opening hours of cinemas across Canberra with the highly anticipated Avengers: Infinity War opening in cinemas.

Here’s what you need to know.

Cafes

Thousands of Canberrans will be getting up at the crack of dawn to attend ANZAC Day services across the territory. Inevitably, there’ll be a desperate rush for coffee and breakfast after Canberrans have paid their respects to our fallen heroes. Here is a list of 13 Canberra cafes open to serve your early morning coffee and breakfast needs.

Chatterbox Espresso Bar are serving a special Anzac Day all-day breakfast menu, hot coffee and all our regular drinks from 6 am until 1:30 pm.

Ricardo’s cafe & patisserie will be open from 6:30 am.

Teddy Picker’s will be open REALLY early. Join them for coffee from 3:45 am. Kitchen opens after the dawn service at 6 am and will close at midday.

Edgar’s Inn is just a cheeky stroll from the War Memorial and they will open early to accommodate the early risers. Make sure you book your table as seats will fill up fast. Serving coffee from 5:30 am and breakfast from 6 am. Book your table at the Ainslie local now on 6257 5488.

DOUBLESHOT Deakin will be pouring and cracking those eggs as soon as the dawn service finishes.

The Duxton at O’Connor has an Anzac Day dawn service breakfast that will be served hot and early.

The Knox made in Watson Knox has your caffeine needs covered. BOOK NOW for parties of 6 or more. 6:30 am – 4 pm.

The Pedlar You can get a takeaway coffee and bacon and egg rolls at The Pedlar from 4:30 am! Breakfast begins at 6 am.

Walt and Burley Open from 6 am for breakfast and will also be serving lunch and dinner. You can also stop in for a game or two of 2UP from 11 am!

The Cupping Room Open from 6:30 am – 3 pm.

Gus’ Place Open from 6 am – 3 pm.

Coffee Lab Open from 6 am until 3 pm.

Supermarkets

Coles Supermarkets and Woolworths stores in the ACT will be open from 1 pm. Aldi will open its 11 stores across Canberra at 1:15 pm till 8 pm.

Shopping Centres

Canberra Centre will have opening hours for ANZAC Day from 1 pm till 5 pm, though some major retailers and restaurants may wish to operate outside these hours, please contact individual stores for more information.

Tuggeranong Hyperdome will open at 1 pm and close at 5:30 pm while Belconnen Mall will be open its doors at the same time and close at 5 pm.

Cinemas

With the highly anticipated Avengers: Infinity War opening on Anzac Day, cinemas will be packed on Anzac Day. Dendy Cinemas will be open as normal and will be showing the blockbuster from 10 am, though most screenings are sold out. Hoyts Cinemas, Limelight and Palace Electric in the ACT will be trading normally with most of their screens dedicated to the new Avengers film.

Pharmacies and Chemists

Most pharmacies and chemists across Canberra will be open normal trading hours. RiotACT confirmed with Capital Chemist O’Connor (9 am – 11 pm), Belconnen Discount Pharmacy (9 am – 5 pm), Ginninderra After Hours Pharmacy (8 am – 10 pm) and Capital Chemist Greenway (9 am – 6 pm).
