This Sunday 24 March, the Canberra Hillclimb Circuit at Fairbairn Park hosts the 2013 HeartKids Hillclimb.
The event is being run in memory of Daniel Cummin’s younger brother William, who died at the age of 12 from complications of a heart defect that he battled with from birth. To celebrate what would of been William’s 21st birthday in 2009, Daniel chose to take William’s love of care racing and host the inagural HeartKids Hillclimb. Since then Daniel has dedicated a large portion of his time into making the annual event an amazing experience as a way to carry on William’s love, as well as raise awareness and support for HeartKids, Australia’s sole charity focused on Childhood Heart Disease. Since then, these events have helped raise thousands of dollars for the cause. The charity event aims to raise the profile of HeartKids, who provide huge support, encouragement and hope to families of children with Heart Disease.
So if you are looking for something to fill your time on Sunday, why not come and show your support as well as experience a day full of car action. Entry is free, however you may be tempted to purcahse a 3sausage sandwich, an espresso coffee, maybe a raffle ticket and definitely watch some time-trial car racing.
Action starts on track at 9am and continues trough until about 4:00pm. We will also be running passenger laps for youngsters throughout the day (and maybe some young at heart passengers if we have space too!).
