The ACT #SustainableCommunities Awards recognise excellence in environmental sustainability and community building in the Australian Capital Territory. These awards celebrate the innovation, hard work and achievements of individuals, community groups, businesses, and government who are taking positive steps towards improving their local environment. If you or someone you know is a leader in:

  • Community Action and Wellbeing
  • Litter Prevention, Waste Management & Resource Recovery
  • Environmental Sustainability
  • Heritage and Culture
  • Young Legends
  • Environmental Education

We want to hear from you! For the first time, you can also nominate someone who has demonstrated commitment to the environment or has made significant contributions in any of the preceding categories to positively impact upon life in the ACT for the Individual ACTion Award.

Why enter?

  • Share your success story
  • Recognise your community
  • Review your achievements
  • Network and share information with ACT environmental and community leaders
  • Represent the ACT on a national stage if you win.

For more information on the awards head to the KABACT website or check out this short video featuring a very animated Mitch of Canberra Urban Honey, our 2014 ACT Sustainable Cities winner.

The Keep Australia Beautiful ACT Sustainable Communities Awards are an initiative of Keep Australia Beautiful National, sponsored by the Australian Packaging Covenant, and the department of the Environment and Sustainable Development of the ACT.
