If you’re still in school and love rugby then get into the Brumbies rugby talent development program: (I don’t work for Tones, I can spell it how I like)
The University of Canberra Brumbies are calling on applications for the Brumbies Talent Development Camp which aims to improve the skills of ACT rugby players between the ages of 15 and 18.
Run over three days, the development camp has been set up to identify players from Canberra and the surrounding region that have the potential to play representative rugby. Individually, the camp strives to assist with the core skill development of players across all positions.
The camp will run for three days from Monday 20 to Wednesday 22 January 2014 at the Australian Institute of Sport, Bruce ACT; Australia’s leading sporting facility.
Players will be involved with on field activities like:
• Fitness Testing
• Recovery Sessions
• Ball Handling
• Foot Speed Drills
• Core and Individual Skills
• Contact Skills
• Set Play and Phase Play
• Scrums, Lineouts and Restarts
• Defensive SystemsOff the field, players will receive:
• Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner
• 1 x Brumbies Polo Shirt
• 2 x Brumbies Training Shirts
• 1 x Cap
• 1 x Water Bottle
• Fitness Testing
• Tactical Session
• Brumbies and Wallabies players Q&AThe all inclusive cost of the camp is $528, with registrations closing on November 15.
