Where can I buy balance bikes in Canberra?

I’m looking for a bike store in Canberra that has good service and knowledge about kids balance bikes?

Also, any recommendations for the type or brand would also be useful.
Our daughters (two and four years old) are a little on the small side and need to be fitted for an appropriate balance bike.

Thank you to everyone for the suggestions.

We ended up settling on the Cruzee, weight and the fact that it comes in pink were the major factors in my daughters selecting them, that and they were cruising around the store comfortably on them.

I dont remember the name of the shop, but it is the one next to BP in Civic. Had been there in past and was a good experience.

I found http://www.twowheelingtots.com/ to be an excellent source of information. Sure, you can’t buy all the brands they list here in little ol’ Canberra, but it helps you work out what to look for.

I went with the First Bike because it seemed the most ‘sorted’ and safe design. You can also get an attachment to lower the rear wheel which makes it suitable for very small kids.

Most local shops only have one type of balance bike in stock – maybe the bigger shops have a few more, but it’s not really much of a choice.

Bike Culture at O’Connor shops have sturdy little metal ones which we found to be very robust.

Alright, now that all of that crap is out of the way that normally comes with anything related to cycling on this site – time to talk balance bikes.

First off, good work! Balance bikes are great to get toddlers learning what is the best skill (that and swimming) that can take them to anywhere in the world.

I can second that Joel and Stan from Monkey Wrench are awesome guys – definitely go check them out.

If you want something super special, check out the local frame builder – Kumo Cycles, he has made custom balance bikes before.

Pushys in Fyshwick have cruzee balance bikes.

Trek bikes in Tuggeranong and Woden have some too.
