Ok well perhaps this doesn’t (yet) have quite the cool factor of Tex on the xx but Melbourne band The Devastations (supporting Clare Bowditch at ANU tonight) will be interviewed on Sunset on 2XXfm (98.3) at around 5.15 tonight.
The Devastations have a great sound – kind of in the Bad Seeds style but with their own particular flair – thoughtful yet rockin, cruisey at times and pumpin’ at others. (Possibly comparable on some levels to Tex Don and Charlie as well but different).
If you haven’t heard of them but like that sound, check out the interview and if you’re going to see Clare Bowditch anyways, get there a little early, these guys start playing around 9.
