‘Style Scene is a fortnightly series that showcases the best of Canberra’s street fashion. Produced by Daniella Jukic, Style Scene is out to prove that the nation’s capital is just as fashion-conscious as its big-city counterparts.’
Street style photography is a great way to show that fashion has a place in our everyday life. Fashion from the catwalk is translated to the streets as wearable trends. What we wear is an expression of our individual style. My aim is to focus my lens on the streets of Canberra to show that fashion is very much alive in the nation’s capital.
As the resident style stalker of Canberra, I caught up with local student and part-time barista Ruby Wilson to snap her style. Ruby is effortlessly stylish in high waisted mum jeans and a classic grey coat.

Describe your style in three words? I’d describe my style as minimalistic, presentable and classy.
Where is your favourite place to shop? I have an unhealthy online shopping addiction! With so many to choose I would go with one of my favourite sites Misha Collection.
Who is your style icon? My style icon would have to be Sammy Robinson’s style. She has a minimalistic, basic and earthy kind of style which is easy to follow and I love it.
What item can’t you live without? I can’t live with out my paw paw lip balm.
Do you prefer winter or summer fashion? Summer 100% because you can make it so easy and wear the prettiest dresses.
