The NCA have pushed out two items on the much loved carillon on Lake Burley Griffin.
1. there’s a concert there this Christmas Eve (Friday):
The free concert will feature four individual carillonists performing a range of popular Christmas songs from 6pm to 8pm on Friday 24 December.
Susan Antcliff will lead the concert, followed by performances from fellow carillonists Astrid Bowler, Kerryn Milligan and Joan Chia.
NCA Exhibition Facilities Manager, Seona Doherty said the Christmas Eve performance will be a wonderful celebration of Christmas.
‘Everyone is invited to bring along a rug and some refreshments to enjoy this special concert at the National Carillon in the beautiful surrounds of Aspen Island, and Kings Park.

2. Colliers International to fund the Carillon program:
Colliers International have committed their ongoing support of the National Carillon recital programme with a two year partnership agreement announced today.
The agreement between the National Capital Authority (NCA), and Colliers International until June 2012 follows a successful partnership over the last two years.
NCA Chief Executive, Gary Rake said the ongoing partnership will expand the National Carillon music programme.
‘In addition to the regular performances, the public will be treated to special concerts on Christmas Eve, Australia Day, Valentines’ Day, Canberra Day, Anzac Day and the Queen’s Birthday public holiday.
‘The ‘Stillness and the Night’ evening summer concert series will continue with the first performance on 4 January 2011.
‘The public will also be offered a rare opportunity to see inside the instrument, with free tours available in April each year, as well as the popular Carillon Open Day,’ said Mr Rake.
