Farty smelling Canberra Centre escalators

oh, i think i have an answer for this. The rubbish docks for Superbarn (and probably a lot of the other stores) are located off Petrie Street. You’ll probably find the bad smell is blown through the loading dock (like a wind-tunnel) and finds its way in the escalator service areas.

Considering this thread was started during summer, it probably has something to do with the heat. As for recent complaints, all you need is the wind to blow the wrong direction, and/or the rubbish not collected for a few extra days to have this effect.

A very old man breaking a hip falling down an escalator amuses you? A bad fall will land an octogenarian in hospital, and the death rate is very high from late-in-life falls. Bad call, posting this as a funny.

I remember the fist time an old lady told me she and her husband were Octogenarians – I initially thought of some secretive religious cult (and wondred why she was telling me this) before the penny dropped later in the conversation……..

They still smell farty.

The other week I was using the Farty Smelling Canberra Centre Escalators, from the basement carpark, as usual.

The male of the young couple ahead of me took the time to lift their toddler child and take a great whiff of her nappy contents. I overheard the female say “It’s the escalators, they always smell like this.”

You forgot to add; “what if he had got caught up in the escalator machinery, and had been slowly eaten by the stairs, inch by inch, while a bus load of orphans, whose driver had been distracted by his scream, crashed into a burning building full of nuns, which set off an explosion taking out the local hospital!!! Would you be laughing then?!?!”

Hint for you to stop you embarrassing yourself further; looking at a gif, and finding it amusing, of events which I have no control over, which may have happened long ago in another country, does not have any influence over course of that event, and is therefore harmless.

Free country ‘n all that. Most of us, though, are only amused by a flight of fancy, like the second part of your post – not by real-life hurt and trauma.
