Dobinsons Moroccan Chicken Focaccia. $10 lunch review

focaccia

Dobinsons on Bunda Street is a firm favourite with a certain type of Canberran.

Today for the $10 lunch series I decided the Morroccan Chicken Focaccia looked like a good option.

It was a salted focaccia, as you can probably see in the photo. The saltiness threw out the balance of the sandwich for mine.

And there wasn’t much of Morroco to it.

No pickled lemon! No dried fruit!

As a straight focaccia it’s not bad, and quite filling. Certainly reasonably healthy with lots of semi-dried tomato and lettuce.

But for mine just lacking in zing.

(For more sub $10 lunches in Civic check the tag, if you’ve got recommendations let me know.)

Can’t believe men say “eye candy”

Their eye candy is above average!

I must admit the Dobinsons girls are always easy on the eye. EEO at work!

Their eye candy is above average!

i love their spinach & fetta triangles

They also do amazing cherry pies.

They do the best sausage rolls in Canberra!

Dobinsons would have to be the most overrated bakery in Canberra. Having said that, their sausage rolls are not bad.

Why would you even bother with a foccacia… for $10 you can buy three custard tarts!!

Had it before, agree that it’s too salty. The sweet stuff is definitely their strength, I think.

But how can anyone go to Dobinsons and not get the Mexican Pie and Apricot/Almond tart?!

They gave me mild food poisoning not long ago so personally I wouldn’t recommend them.
Also having that much salt just screams that they’re stingy in the ingredients department.
