Shopping Trolley laws really making a difference?

Just another example of pointless crap from our political overlords. How many hours have been wasted on this nonsense, the plastic bag nonsense, ridiculous public art nonsense etc, while we still have to wait for endless hours in hospital emergency department for some help.

A guy I work with told me that he’d taken his dad to Canberra hospital with blood poisoning, and he was only treated when he collapsed and fell to the floor unconscious after waiting for seven hours.

Thank deity that the ACT government has its priorities right.

Well, here it is June and there are just as many shopping trolleys as ever abandoned within a kilometre or so of the Kambah Village shops. I’m betting that not a single bogan has been charged, fined or prosecuted for taking his slab of Bundy & Coke home in a Woolies trolley.

#1 is spot on – I’m aware of instances of dumping and the rangers doing nothing, even with identifying photographic evidence being provided to them. Other than gathering dust, the laws might bolster their website, supplementing their power to crack down on illegal camping and windscreen leaflets 🙂

What about the lady that takes her full load of goods and shackels for a walk in a trolley from the south side of Commonwealth bridge to the north every afternoon and runs it into everybody. She’d be stuffed if the trolley police found her.

Where does the shopping related area in Civic end? This could reasonably be within. (obviously not the le Lake Ginninderra video)

I thought it was just me that noticed more shopping trolleys around. Is it because people think the fines apply only to the supermarkets? Anyway, there is a nice collection building up right outside one terrace house on Flemington Road (the first three story ones). I think it’s up to eight now. I may be getting old, but a trolley thorugh the window may fix it I think.

Have actually noticed more trolleys “escaping” their homes since the law has been introduced/advertised – not including the abandoned rusted out one near Comm Ave bridge west side, this has been there for a while, must be some stranglehope art. Have not seen or heard of anyone being given a fine as yet though.

How do you Police a law that’s imposable to Police without more rangers being put to the task?
