Rodent went up Mt Franklin Road two weeks ago to check out the snow and sent in these pictures and an account of the experience:
This is the walk from before the Mt Aggie gate (not sure what called) up to Mt Ginini along Mt Franklin road… because when we went up (7.30am) the gates were locked. At about 10am a ranger drove past us when we were close to Mt Ginini and said he’d opened up the road to the Mt Franklin gate. On walking back, there were plenty of families at Mt Franklin with toboggans. If they’d walked a little further they would have had even more snow. Very enjoyable and we had no problems getting up there (in a 4WD) but there were plenty of sedans at Mt Franklin on our return (at about 2.30pm).
