Extension of Daylight Savings for Commonwealth Games

Won’t somebody think of the faded curtains???????

The Commonwealth Games are clearly another case of Melbourne having Sydney envy.

Uh, Melbourne had the Olympics in 1956. I think the envy would’ve been all Sydney’s for, say, 44 years?

Daylight saving is not a bad thing at all, so you’ll hear no complaints from me. Personally I think that when a tourist comes to country the size of Australia they should anticipate confusion regarding time, language and far north queenslanders.

The ACt Government announced the week’s extension months ago.

They got a shit load of money from the Federal government a couple of budgets ago. So they’re guaranteed to have a good fireworks display.

Arthur Tunstall loves the Commonwealth Games (as opposed to the Olympic Games ) because “everyone speaks English”.

Commonwealth games are so half-arsed. Apparently they’re having trouble selling the tickets.

There was some speculation that the NRL would delay the start of next year’s season by 2 weeks because of the Commonwealth games. They don’t see the games as being any threat to their audience so they’re not delaying the season’s first kick off!
