Waters Edge, the restaurant under the grass on the lake’s edge, was one of Canberra’s top restaurants until it closed a while back.
It has reopened, and judging by our experience, is headed back into its old position: the top!
We had some very VIPs to entertain, and our normal favourite upmarket eatery was not being co-operative, so we decided to give Waters Edge a go. They were wonderful to deal with, with a professional and can-do attitude. I spoke to 4 different people during the various arrangment contacts, and they were all helpful, positive, polite and offering extras right from the start.
The actual meal was wonderfully handled: the decore is soft and elegant, menu is good, and get this, the prices have come down! Well-cooked, well-served, the VIPs were happy and so were we.
The chefs are French, the staff are mature and expert, and I can unreservedly recommend the place for true classy dining (and at a really reasonable price). You’ll find menus on the “out in Canberra” website. I am delighted to be able to give them a 5 out of 5 rating. Pure quality.
