Women's Dragon Boating COME & TRY DAY

10am – 12pm Saturday 29th October

All women 16-60+ are welcome to join Diamond Phoenix Dragon Boat Club for a fun morning of paddling on Lake Burley Griffin. Try something new, improve your health and fitness, make new friends and find out why dragon boating is such a fast-growing fun sport.

Meet at Lotus Bay, Alexandrina Drive Yarralumla (look for the team in red and yellow).

If you can’t make it on Saturday, you’re welcome to come along to one of our training sessions (first 3 sessions are free).

Yes was part of a major ACT team for 2 years.
Fittest I ever was.
Left after getting bawled out late one afternoon on the boat

The coaching style varies a lot between dragon boat clubs. The focus of Diamond Phoenix is empowerment and friendship – so we encourage our paddlers to do their best without boot camp style yelling.

I was fishing in LBG near the yacht club earlier this year when some dragon boat crews were practising nearby.

The skipper on the boat nearest me was giving the crew such a reaming for their slackness that I couldn’t believe anyone would voluntarily engage in such an activity.
