TAMS confirms Adelaide Avenue is T2 from Monday.

Luther_bendross…. – I do sometimes consider the Monaro, although having to travel on that road at the end of the week (at an earlier time), I’m always aware that it tends to get really busy firstly around Rose Cottage, secondly at the end of the 100k zone near the bridge building past 8am. Might give it a go though and see what happens.

I’m probably telling you something you already know, but I go Calwell – Monaro Hwy – Morshead – Parkes Way to get to work, and it takes pretty much bang on 20min. Surely you’re taking the long route?

Cover the situation when the bus only has the driver in it? It’d still be a bus, but not T2.

Did they actually take the signs down? I saw on Saturday that there were T2 signs up in the southbound lane near Parliament House, not sure if they weree reinstated ahead of schedule or just never removed.

I hope they do the signage right this time.

I think the release numbering scheme means they were released in November 2006, though there is no date on them so it’s hard to tell for sure.

The lane used to be a bus lane only until work on the GDE and Glenloch Interchange started. At that point to encourage cars away from the road works the bus lane was changed to a T2/bus lane with the intention it would revert once the construction was finished.

Lets face it, the GDE link is rather tenuous. The issue is that the Gov reversed the decision without consultation and it was a dumb move on their part because it wasn’t broken. If cars with more than one person in can use it alongside the buses – and I travel this road a lot and dont see any problems – then why waste the energy on heralding the change and linking it to something no one really understands or remembers? Just makes people wonder if they haven’t anything better to do all day.

The Tuggers Parkway is becoming the road to avoid in the south at peak time anyway due to the number of accidents that block all the lanes so I suspect, like me, a lot of workday travellers use the other routes. I leave Calwell at about 8.10am, travel through Woden, up Adelaide Ave and am at work in City West by by 8.45am. If the cars using the T2 lane get there slightly quicker, then even better.

Parkway south side should be 3 Lanes!

Well derh! I mean deeeeeeeeeeeeeeerrrrrrrrrrrrrrhhhhhhhh! They were upgrading the Glenloche interchange as well, which meant passage through that area was disrupted and knew that there would be more traffic on other roads including Adelaide Ave
.So as is usual in a car dominated city like Canberrra the common sense approach was to let some ,motor vehicles drivers who had more than one passenger use the bus lane on Adelaide Ave.
