The Chief Minister of the ACT Environment has put out this media release on an increase in the rebate for rain water tanks. An extra $200 will be available in rebates after 1 Feb 2008. The rebate is available when you hook the tank up to flush the toilet (requires a plumber) and is $750 for tank sizes of 2,000-3,999 litres, $900 for 4,000-8,999 litres and $1000 for 9,000 litres or greater.
My neighbours bought two little tanks (1200L? each) in mid December and they have been sitting unconnected until just last week and I just keep on thinking about all the rain they were missing out on. Luckily for them we got all that rain on Friday and Saturday, and it topped up my 4500L tank nicely.
So who will be rushing out and getting themselves a rain water tank now, and if so who are you going to. I got mine through Get Tanked and they were really good, any other good or bad experiences? What about the “do it yourself” crowd, is it worth it?
