Lundy attacks Tanner and Rudd

Was it just me?
I quickly read the headline

“Lundy breaks ranks on cuts”

and my mind stuck an N in cuts.

confused I read it again, and I realised it was just me.

Lundy was on radio (666) around the time of the Budget. Humphries was on with her and pointed out to her that she was a very strong critic of the Howard Government’s efficiency dividend on the APS and job cuts in the 1996 budget. Seems Labor’s efficiency dividend is about double Howard’s. Lundy did not want to talk about the planned job losses either. She showed no guts that day, believe me. Her concern is all VERY late on her part. It was a pathetic performance at the time by this lightweight leftie. Never forget she was fast tracked at a young age because of her union connections. Rest assured her colleagues all know how thick she is. She was a Shadow ICT Minister at one stage but it became bleedingly obvious to all and sundry she was way out of her depth. We are now stuck with her in a plumb Senate role for another 20 years.

i’m not a “labor supporter”, but kevin rudd is okay. kate lundy is a freaking tool, though.

It’s possible she’s even got “permission” to grumble a bit. Becuase the rest of Australia doesn’t care, and is generally quite pleased to be told that those lazy fat cats in Canberra are being kicked onto the dole queues. So Lundy can make a bit of noise locally, no one else will take any notice, and it’s business as usual.

I feel the APS is slowly turning against the new gov’t. I wonder what the effect will be?

Hmm. Wasn’t Lundy saying (when on radio with Humphries) there would be no job losses?

I know which job should be lost next.

There’s another article about Canberra job losses in the paper today too, DIAC this time. Interesting how low-key it is, I guess a town whose media is mainly advertorial-type publications shouldn’t be surprised. the ABC being a pleasant exception.
