News today that the Common Thread ticket, has swept the ANUSA election, taking all executive positions. Perhaps it took an (alleged) serious crime to act as a wake up call, but this year’s ANUSA elections were markedly different to past elections. Noticeably less triviality, most of the tickets had more substance to their policies and actually talked about important issues, not just spouting abstract slogans and nothing more. Common Thread was the strongest ticket, but the whole field deserves congratulations this year.
It was a pleasant change, a step in the right direction, and even a bit amusing compared to the increasingly ludicrous nature of the ACT election campaign.
