Bus attacked with wood

Police are on the hunt for two teenagers suspected of attacking a bus on Tuesday afternoon, according to the Canberra Times.

The bus was travelling innocently along Adelaide Avenue when a chunk of wood tied Ewok-style to an overpass rammed into the bus’s windscreen.

ACTION chief executive Peter Wallace labelled the attack “ridiculous” and said you’d have to be “brain dead” to do anything like it.

The driver and passengers were shaken but uninjured.

A policy on screens on overpasses is expected to be released in a few weeks. The story is unclear as to whether this policy was already in development or if this attack is a direct catalyst for it.

Well, apparently my grandfather was on that bus. and he’s like..80+

so yeah, if im drunk or something, and start talking to my grandfather about this, i’ll tell you what really happend 🙂

Right on Spitfire!

“A policy on screens on overpasses is expected to be released in a few weeks.”

Unfortunately I believe this is long overdue. Attacks on vehicles are not the only things that screens would prevent. I was a juror in a court case where someone was pushed from an overpass at the Belco bus interchange and killed. I later heard that there were no screens on this overpass due to aesthetic reasons (I haven’t had this confirmed yet). I duly surmised that whoever made such a judgement was incapable of distinguishing an arse from a face, since Belconnen’s one of the ugliest concrete jungles I’ve ever seen.

Although I would opinion that a chunk of wood tied Ewok-style to an overpass very definetly isn’t the work of “brain dead” children.

They would have sourced the materiels, planned, and implemented their cunning plan. An adult concept.

If they want to play with the big boys, perhaps they should be given the opportunity to check out just how long the soap on the rope is in the facilities in the adults world.

Since they’re in such a rush to get there…

If it’s where I think it is, then it’s either the overpass with Carruthers St in Curtin, or Novar St in Yarralumla. Either way the closest high school is at Deakin. I’ve seen it happen constantly at both bridges…stupid asswipe kids.

High security juvie dentention centre.

What facility is this? Tell me more…

better still Maelinar – introduce the little blighters to a facility far more antagonizing than Quamby…a little facility up the road from Woy Woy near Kincumber!

Once you catch them, drive them to the middle of woy woy and leave them there.

I’m talking at least 2 states away, a long walk home is always great for the constitution and gives you relevant time to think about the error of your ways.

I say we ban all wood, rocks and rope. 😛

hang them by their feet from an underpass and smash them into oncoming vehicles – preferably some kind of armoured vehicle and have the driver prepared for it!!

I have travelled ina vehicle when some punk kids threw a rock from an overpass. Shattered windscreen and the potential for grievous injury, I stepped out of the vehicle with another bloke and proceeded to hunt these little bastards to no avail. Still makes me wild thinking about it.

So in that spirit let’s have some creative suggestions regarding appropriate punishment for people found doing this sort of things. Anything that involves pain, humiliation and misery will be met with props and kudos.
