Unsure if this is appropriate content for theriotact. I’ll give it a go anyway…
I’m looking to start a band of like-minded old(er) dudes – between say 30 and 40 – here in Canberra.
Apart from age, the other primary qualification is that you be a bit…well….conservative in your tastes. I don’t really want to be an old bloke trying to make young blokes’ music. What I’m interested in is putting together a bunch of muso’s who are proficient and experienced, who – despite the passage of the years – still have a bit of mongrel hunger in them, and who are into dad/blues/beard rock stuff : Zeppelin, Allmans, Purple, Bad Company/Free, Trower, Lizzy, AC/DC…you get the picture.
I guess my first preference is for something organic, but not with a capital ‘o’ – I’m not a vegetarian, and I don’t like John Butler. Originals or covers (or a mixture of both) would be fine by me.
Alternatively, a classic metal covers act (playing Maiden, Queensryche, Lucifer’s Friend, Rainbow, Dio, Saxon, etc.) could be fun. Either way, the intention is for this to be a proper working band.
I’ve got a couple of songs of my own half ready to go, or at least to be worked up. I’m looking for guitar(s), drums, bass, the usual drill.
If interested, you can hear some of the stuff I did with my old band here:

Anyway, if this sounds it might be your kind of thing, it would be great to hear from you.
