To celebrate Christmas, to remind people how fun being read to is, to appreciate a classic, and to raise some money for the Red Cross’s efforts in the Philippines, we’re going to do a reading of a special abridged version of A Christmas Carol which had been cut down by Dickens himself to be read publicly at Christmas.
The book will be read by local poetry wiz-kid Aaron Kirby with dialogue provided by local acting wiz-kid Alison McGregor and local “whatever” Joel Barcham… which is me obviously.
So come to the Phoenix, throw some gold coins into a jar, order yourself a whiskey and sit back and have a story read to you.
It’s quite a good story to, so if you’ve only ever experienced it through Christmas specials like the Muppets one (which is awesome), maybe it’s time you experienced the actual thing.
