Brumbies have announced a partnership with ActewAGL for the 2018 rugby season, with the local energy firm set to become an official partner of the Brumbies Academy and Brumbies Super W team.
The ActewAGL logo will appear on the front of Academy training jerseys and on the back of the Super W Brumbies game day jerseys for the duration of the 2018 rugby season.
Brumbies CEO Michael Thomson said the Canberra side was extremely pleased to announce the partnership with ActewAGL and sees a close alignment between the two organisations.
“ActewAGL is an iconic local organisation which is very community focused, with strong relationships with the residents of Canberra and the surrounding region, much like we pride ourselves at the Brumbies,” Mr Thomson said.
“We believe ActewAGL’s and the Brumbies core values are very much aligned and through the partnership with our Academy and Super W team, we will continue to develop rugby opportunities through the region.”
“We are excited about growing a very strong relationship.”
Director Brand, Communications and Corporate Affairs at ActewAGL, Paul Walshe, said he was delighted to be teaming up with the Brumbies Super W and Academy sides.
“Today I am delighted to announce that we will be providing sponsorship to the Brumbies Super W team and to the Academy,” Mr Walshe said. “We are proud to support not only the Brumbies of today but the Brumbies of tomorrow.”
“ActewAGL have been supporting women in sport for over two decades and during this time we have given more than $2 million in sponsorship. We are proud to be a company that has played a major role in progressing local female-focused sports.”
“It is great that every major code now has a women’s league and I am very excited to watch this league grow and for young local women to aspire to a career in rugby. The Buildcorp Super W is one of twelve female-focused and mixed teams and events we currently sponsor- in 2018 ActewAGL will provide $400,000 in support of these teams and events.”
