The ACT Planning and Land Authority have announced they’ve put the kibosh on the redevelopment of the Morling Lodge aged care facility in Red Hill.

The proposed 114 unit construction has been deemed to be not in keeping with the august surrounds.

It was a complex of 5 2 storey buildings.

Plenty of 2 storey houses in Red Hill last time I looked.

Seems the Luddites of Red Hill have considerably more influence than their brethren in Ainslie. Or else this BCS mob need to get some lessons from Goodwin on how to nestle a multi-storey facility in a residential precinct.

Something about this stinks. I suspect that whatever Morling Lodge put forward, they still wouldn’t have much interest in this facility improving/expanding.
