Australian & New Zealand Rugby fans pay respects on ANZAC Day despite SANZAR objections

Although SANZAR ruled that no anthems could be played at the Super Rugby fixture between the Brumbies and the Chiefs on ANZAC Day, crowds paid their respects by removing their hats and falling silent (although not labeled a minutes silence according the SANZARs wishes).

This display of respect was accompanied by a reading of The Ode and by the playing of the Last Post.

Let’s hope the fixture can become a regular rugby tribute to ANZAC Day, only with anthems perhaps allowed at some point in the future.
