In continuation with activities inspired by novels, today’s Best of Canberra callout is for recommendations on archery venues in the capital.
A favourite childhood pastime of mine (and probably of children the world over) was crafting poorly formed bows from a fallen branch, using a rubber band as a bowstring and sticks as arrows. I don’t recall said arrows going terribly far … but it felt pretty impressive nonetheless.
Many literary and screen characters have kicked butt with arrows: Robin Hood, while stealing from the rich and giving to the poor, Legolas whilst skating down stairs or oliphaunts backs, or, more recently, Katniss Everdeen fighting for food and for her life on The Hunger Games.
