Big Band Boom hits Garema Place with James Morrison

By johnboy - 26 October 2010 1

Katy Gallagher informs us that the ongoing circuses (sans bread) of the “Groovin in the City” program is camping in Garema Place this week with a big band theme and a performance by the much loved James Morrison.

Acting Chief Minister Katy Gallagher has announced legendary Jazz performer and multi-instrumentalist James Morrison will star in this week’s Groovin’ in the City free lunchtime entertainment program.

For those who haven’t had the pleasure, a James Morrison show is more than just jazz noodling and trumpet virtuosity, it’s a full and wide ranging entertainment event.

The line up this week is:

    — 12:00pm, Tuesday 26 October – Spectrum Big Band

    — 12:30pm, Wednesday 27 October – James Morrison

    — 12:00pm, Thursday 28 October – Annie and the Armadillos Big Band

    — 12:00pm, Friday 29 October – Connexion Big Band

Went along yesterday, enjoyed it thoroughly.

Had to see Mr. Morrison today – amazing. Great music, appreciative crowd, and good weather to boot.

Would be more eloquent, but my mind is simply saying “aah”.
