The Herald Sun has a piece on plans by sacked Raider (and convicted assaulter) to fight his sacking:

The Goodwin camp remain dismayed how a player with a clean record for five seasons was axed for a first offence.

The Sunday Telegraph understands Goodwin’s defence will include a list of other Raiders repeat offenders afforded numerous second chances by club management.

“I’m absolutely disappointed and devastated. There’s no way in the world I thought it would come to this,” Goodwin said.

The times have changed Bronx. Did your ethics code have provision for multiple warnings?

seriously what a bunch of dickheads this guy surrounds himself with… they are all ‘dismayed’ with how a player with a clean record for 5 seasons(ON THE FIELD) can get axed for the first offence(OFF THE FIELD)
There is a difference you tossers, you bash a bloke on the field you get cheered and maybe 10 mins in the sinbin
you do it off the park, and plead guilty to it – you get a criminal record and may go to gaol…

do not past go do not collect your lime green pay cheque
im over this crap

It was the right thing to do – we need a culture of premiership winners not boozers. Feel sorry for the Guy – its tough, but we are playing the in the main game not the park here.

Did think the choice of sponsor that was announced a day or so later to be interesting given the events

Good to see Mr Furner supported him in his court appearance.

Perhaps Bronx should head to the Bronco’s. They may be looking for some players soon if the club takes the same approach as the Green Machine.
