The Brumbies blew their best chance to bury the nine-year hoodoo against the Canterbury Crusaders on Saturday night and are left to rue their missed opportunities as another match slipped through their hands.

For 10 minutes they had a two-man advantage on the field after two yellow cards to the Kiwi side but the Brumbies made some poor decisions that cost them a 21-8 loss at GIO Stadium.

Their loss was also compounded by a suspension to Chance Peni, who was handed a five-match suspension after his shot on Israel Dagg.

The Brumbies are now on a three-match losing streak and are sitting near the cellar of the Australian conference after the Queensland Reds leapfrogged them into third place.

Local photographer Ben Appleton from Photox was at the game to capture all the action on and off the field.
