After Jake had a mumble to a journalist on Monday about wanting 20,000 fans to come down to Canberra Stadium for the curtain raiser this Saturday the team has this Wednesday put out the call:
University of Canberra Brumbies fans are being asked to contribute to the Gold Rush at Canberra Stadium this Saturday night, with team kit and hats a show of support for the players going to battle with the Reds.
Membership packs have been floating into mailboxes throughout the ACT over the last couple of weeks and Brumbies fans are being asked to make the most of their yellow caps and scarves on Saturday night.
In addition, bright yellow flags thanks to Service One Banking will be handed out at the gates, free of charge for Brumbies fans to join the Gold Rush.
Since Monday, Head Coach Jake White has spoken about turning Canberra back into the fortress it was in the early 2000’s, with crowd figures regularly climbing above the 20,000 mark. With the return of Clyde Rathbone and the selection of Wallaby Captain David Pocock, White was confident Brumbies Rugby supporters would turn out in big numbers to support their team.
